I've been on another poll talking about my unusual collection, and while I have it in my profile, I thought I might as well kill some journal time and share it here.
Back before the Internet, Television, before special effects... there was the imagination. Families used to sit in their living room each night, wives used to clean their homes, listening to radio shows such as Grace and Allen, Groucho Marx, Amos and Andy, Inner Sanctum, Our Miss Brooks, and many others.
This is what I collect: Old Time Radio episodes. I have around 1000 of them- everything from Flash Gordon to Gangbusters to The Price of Fear to X Minus One. I even have some fairly modern Doctor Who and Star Wars radio plays and I starred in the live Radio adaptation of Rob Zombie's "House of 1000 Corpses".
I started collecting from a friend who was an Old Time Radio Deejay and continued from various sites across the web. These days, most surviving episodes are now in digital format.
I'm VERY nostalgic, so I love to share and preserve our history too. You'd be surprised at what you'd learn... aside from the entertainment factor.
If you're at all interested in Old Time Radio, here's a couple of good websites to start from. They have hundreds of shows available for download:
